<description>BRING BLOG PRINTS FOR YOUR OWN USE

I suggests that you bring prints of the most important pages/posts on this blog. I know there is internet access at the hotel, but I don't know anything of print facilities. Just for you own use :-).

Suggestion: I will bring prints (for my own use) of the following pages/posts:

1) Page: New: These have now booked. (So you know who you are going to meet in Berlin).
2) Page: Draft Program. (Since this page gives you addresses and a rough schedule).
3) Page: Nice to know. (Since this page gives useful information).
4) Other pages/posts that you might find useful.

All these pages will be finally updated shortly before (my departure) to Berlin, which will be June 20 (I will leave very early June 21 from Copenhagen).

I know that many plan to bring their Digital Gear as well, so you may want to consider bringing a PC.

This comment is also posted as a blog post.

Cheers

		<description>Hi Mark

Thanks for the comment. You will find all the answers on the blog.

a) length: the length of the summit is indicated in the the header: June 21 to June 24.

b) costs: go to the tag cloud and hit accommodation. Hotel prices, at the hotels that I have been in contact with, goes from about Euro 50 to Euro 100 a night. You could probably do better and much worse, as well :-). There are not planned any costly arrangements when in Berlin, so it is basically up to you how much it is going to cost you. Please see the page: Draft Program.

c) intinery: Do you mean itinerary, then this is limited to what you find in the Draft Program. The loose program is something that has been suggested by possible participants (see the polls in the blogroll). When in Berlin it is up to you how you will group with others and spend your day.

Hope this helps :-). If not let me know.

Cheers

<description>I forgot this was happening so have made few plans so far but just for us newbees, can you say roughly what costs are we looking at here? I can get a cheap flight from the UK but what are the hotel costs going at so far? What is the length of the get together and is there any intinery planned at this time? Sorry for any repeat of anything posted elsewhere.

		<description>Knut

Daniel Ridings, who was putting together the Rollei book, has had, by all accounts, a pretty horrendous time with the text for it. The photos were relatively easy - the text was not! I'll keep you all up to date with possible alternatives.

Best Wishes

<description>Thanks, Markus, for confirming the choice of restaurants in Berlin.

I have been to them all and they are somewhat different both as to area of Berlin and menus. Rest assured that Schlögl is good, in fact if I should pick one of the I would pick Schlögl for it size, atmosphere and traditional German menu.

Cheers.

<description>Hi, a little comment and suggestion from Berlin: Don´t know anything about Schlögl´s, but I can indeed recommend Freischwimmer and Schleusenkrug, provided the weather is fine, since both are casual outdoor spots. Freischwimmer is scenically located at the river bank. Very nice spot - bring your cameras :-).
As for a restaurant at/near Hackescher Markt, one could consider Panasia (www.panasia.de), which features moderatly priced and delicate asian food - and is big enough to host large groups. Alternatives would be Gormanns (German/European cuisine) or Mädchenitaliener (small Italian, would have to book well in advance). BEWARE most of Oranienburger Str., which (with some exceptions) has become a cheap tourist trap.</description>

		<description>Merrill

I have used it now. I spent most of the day yesterday with it.

To make a standard book it is pretty easy if you use the same page lay-out throughout the book. The worst part is in fact having the pictures prepared so they are ready to go. If I am lucky I will have an example booklet with me to Berlin, but then I need to be really lucky :-).

All the best

		<description>Knut

I've not used the programme, but one member from another group of which I am a part - the Rollei Users Group - has recently begun to put together a book of its members' photos. It does not seem too difficult to master,

Best Wishes

Yes, that seems to be a good option. I don't know the program. Do you? Can you work it?

One possibility is to use Blurb www.blurb.com I've seen a few examples of what they have produced and have been quite impressed.
